Ok well I’m 16 years old, and I’m about to start Tri-Cyclen Lo birth control pills, I know that with most pills you gain weight….that doesn’t bother me so much as the idea of not being able to LOSE weight. I am working double shifts at my job to pay for a personal trainer and I’m seeing a nutritionist and I’m REALLY trying to lose weight, I’ve been about a week and 5 days and I’ve lost about 3 pounds already. I heard that on birth control you can’t lose weight…and I’m terrified of this because I’m working so hard and I want to be fit for the end of the summer!
Is it possible to still lose weight on the pill?
Oh and also I’m taking this for acne, so it’s lower dosages of hormones .

Birth control gives you hormones that trick your ovaries into thinking you pregnant. These womanly hormones also make you gain weight and hard to lose. When you started these pills you should have discussed this with your doctor. Thankfully you are seeing a Nutritionist. You can lose weight. Just the results wont be fast. As it shouldnt be in the first place.
