I’m taking accutane and I’m getting dry skin/ dry lips, all the fun stuff.
I’m just starting my 3rd month and its cleared up a lot of my forehead and for some reason, 1 side of my face.. the other side is "clearing" but its still not very good. they aren’t deep cysts, only red pimples all over.
In addition, my face is pretty red all over just from having the pimples there. The dermatologist told me not to take any pills while taking acutane, so I’m not sure if that means vitamins as well?
I have prom in a week and I’d really appreciate it if I could get some help here..
1st – I’ve heard about all the cucumber paste, tomato, basil, tooth paste (I’ve heard it doesn’t work) and a lot of other natural paths, but what is the simplest home remedy that has for sure worked for you? How long did you do it and what were the effects? (reduce redness, swelling, clear acne, etc.)
2nd – Should I take vitamins while taking acutane? And if so, what type of vitamins are best for clear skin?
3rd – I read that milk and those products can be bad for your skin, yet I also read yogurts are extremely healthy for your skin – what is your knowledge on this?
4th – I use a moisturizer that is for sensitive skin since my skin is dry from the accutane. I don’t need ProActive or suggestions like these please.
I need natural remedies, help on vitamins, information like this. Long term would be helpful, and especially things that will help by next Saturday would be the best.
(Also, I have a normal eating diet, probably less fatty than most, and I drink little to no pop. I don’t sleep on a certain side of my face and I change pillow/sheets often.)
I need to reduce redness and clear up my face. Please help, and thank you.

For [preventing] acne Benzoyl peroxide, 2%, 5% or 10% or w/e with oil-free moisturizer (use after the bp has dried up), bee propolis powder (also apparently speeds up healing redness) and occasionally some AHA or whatever acids – but i’d get a breakout sometimes after them. For redness i use vitamin k oxyde cream – it gets worse for about 20 seconds then it’s okay.
I do get acne after eating a cereal/ drinking milk… but i got told by my doctor that the diet has no impact on acne, so not sure..
I also took garlic, twice a day, a bit better than with the odorless garlic tablets.
Make sure you test some of these products before you use them…
